Y Achievers
The Y Achievers program helps our community's minority and under served teens enhance their academic and personal goals. Students and mentors come together to help the students succeed in school and have a brighter future, developing develop a positive sense of self and character.
College Readiness
We have partnered with select high schools in the Oklahoma City Public School District to offer the Y Achievers College Readiness program. Our workshops concentrate on overall academic enrichment, college preparation, SAT/ACT preparation, personal finances, resume writing, interviewing and other valuable life skills.
Career Exploration
Adult mentors meet with high school juniors one Saturday each month at Oklahoma City University to help them grow, prosper and learn more about diverse careers. Our mentors, who are experts in their fields, work with teens during the sessions to provide them with an opportunity to explore their career interests through real-life application of skills.
Y Achievers Alumni Collegiate Program
Once our students graduate from high school and have completed the Y Achievers program, they become members of the Y Achievers Alumni Collegiate Program. It's here we want them to continue to thrive by receiving support, career guidance and educational assistance to aid in fulfilling their long-term personal and professional goals. Also, they will continue to represent the Y Achievers program by continuing to mentor to those in the Y Achievers program. It's a win-win situation.
