The Edward L. Gaylord Downtown YMCA Child Development Center is a three-star accredited center offering care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.  The center includes a full day kindergarten.  The YMCA Childcare Center emphasizes care, safety and the nurture of a child's natural desire to learn, by providing ample opportunities to explore and learn through developmentally appropriate activities.

Program Goals:

The YMCA wants to help children develop to their fullest potential; to develop a healthy self-esteem; and to allow children to learn through discovery and play.  The center offers developmentally appropriate activities to help children grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and spiritually.

Admission to our program:

Children between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years of age are eligible for enrollment.  Enrollment is based on first come, first served.  If space is not available, you may place your child's name on a waiting list.  A $10 nonrefundable fee is required.  The center does not provide part-time care.

Hours:

Operating hours for the Child Development Center are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  The center is closed to observe the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Special Programs:

The Child Development Center, along with the fitness center, offers the children an opportunity to participate in extra activities for a small fee (Mickey Mouse Aerobics, Swim Lessons, Melody Hounds and Dance).

Tuition:

There is a non-refundable $50 annual regristration fee for each child enrolled in the program.  Tuition is due weekly and are automatically drafted from your account. 

The weekly fees are as follows:
Infants - $170
Toddlers - $155
2's - $145
3's & 4's - $130
Full Day Kindergarten - $115
