The Edmond branch was organized in
1966. The first facility components were built in 1967
and 1968. The Y serves all people in the Edmond community,
and oversees the YMCA extension in Guthrie as well as
the Trails YMCA in Edmond.
The YMCA has a fitness and cardiovascular center, gymnasium,
indoor pool, aerobics studio, racquetball courts, indoor
track, locker rooms, and a multipurpose room. The fitness
center has STRIVE strength training equipment, treadmills,
bicycles, stair climbers and elliptical trainers, along
with cardio-theater for people to enjoy music or a favorite
television program while working out. Members may also
utilize the FitLinxx interactive workout system to help
track their activities. A child watch center is available
for short-term childcare for parents who are exercising.
A wide variety of group exercise classes are held throughout
the week, including aerobics and water exercise.
Programs of the Edmond YMCA include school age childcare,
summer day camp, youth sports, Adventure Guides and
swim lessons.
